Studies have established a connection between the regular intake of ultra-processed foods and an increased risk of colorectal cancer in individuals under 50 in the United States. These items—including chips, frozen dinners, sugary beverages, packaged treats, and most fast food—account for more than 60% of the typical daily caloric consumption of Americans. The American Cancer Society has noted a rapid increase in colorectal cancer among younger populations since 2010, with dietary habits being a primary concern. Additionally, these same foods significantly elevate the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.
